[Despite her efforts to hide her troubled tone, Masaomi catches on as soon as he hears the message. Everyone is troubled here, whether they show it or not. If Anri's calling him, it must be for a reason. Even if that reason is just that she feels a little lonely, there's no way he could ever turn her down.
He gets back to her as soon as he can.]
A gorgeous gal like you is never interrupting anything! You know I'd drop everything for you, right? Not that I have much to drop anyway.
[When she's invited over, she seems to relax a little, the beginnings of a small smile tugging at her lips. Kida's brand of overkill flattery makes it difficult to keep up that high level of anxiety. This was why she'd been so certain that he was just the person to talk to.]
...I'd like that, if it's no trouble...
[What she does and doesn't want to tell him... those things are still bouncing around in her head, but she doesn't want to let them sit.]
[Anri is never, ever trouble. Frankly, Masaomi is surprised that she'd want to talk to him privately after everything he's done. If Anri meets him at his and Mikado's place, maybe she'll feel more comfortable knowing Mikado is just on the other side of the wall. That's what he's thinking, at least, as he makes his offer.]
Knock five times, and I'll come running. I'll badger Mikado into making tea too.
[Oh, it's painfully clear what's bothering her. The moment she panics, he's certain Mikado is the subject she's going to want to talk about. Here in Between, at the end of the world, it's not an easy subject for Masaomi either.
If he's right, then... Maybe she doesn't want Mikado around.]
Yup. Five. I won't even tell Mikado. From now on, it'll be our secret knock. 'Kay?
[He has plenty of time to manage that while Anri makes her trip. She's not exactly in a hurry- she wants to make sure he has time to talk to Mikado. Explaining that she'd rather speak with Masaomi alone when she'd done her best her treat the situation with Mikado to his face like it didn't bother her.
But when she does arrive, it's only with a slight moments' hesitation that she raises her hand and knocks-- five times, just as she'd been asked.]
[The door opens immediately. Has he been standing there waiting? Who knows. Mikado is nowhere in sight, and Masaomi is smiling as wide as can be. That's what matters today.]
Anri-chaan~ [He exalts with a playful bow, gesturing for her to come on in.] I've missed you, you know. We've gotta hang out more.
[Just seeing him is... it really cheers her up.] Yes... I'm sorry, I should visit more often.
[It's certainly not because she doesn't want to. But dropping in unannounced- or even calling to ask about visiting- she's never been very good at it. Inside, she takes her shoes off at the door and waits for him while he closes it up.]
[He closes the door behind her before twirling around and gesturing her into one of several chairs.
The room itself is a bit of a melting pot in terms of decor. Mikado's done well to keep it furnished and looking modern, while Masaomi's thrown in a few handmade knick-knacks that are much less pretty, even if they do their job. Next to Anri's comfy new chair, for example, is one half of a barrel morphed into a beverage table. This is where Masaomi sits, despite there being another chair on the other side of it.]
You should! I won't bite, promise. Unless you ask me to.

[That definitely came out way too rushed and way too strong, but as soon as she hears Mikado's name she fires back almost defensively.]
I mean... y-you don't need to bother him, I wouldn't want to put him to any extra trouble...
[...time to move on. She's already fairly sure that by now what's troubling her is transparent.]
A-anyway... I just have to knock five times, right?

Thank you.
[There's an unspoken 'for everything' that just fits in with the heartfelt way she says it.]
In that case... I'll be going.

Then I'll go scare Mikado away.

[Wink, wink.]
