[Yep, Jinx is pretty much useless now. Her claws knead the carpet. When she feels her body drifting a little, she lazily tugs away from his hands. With a sleepy look in her eyes, she crawls back up onto the couch and curls the upper half of her body up in Kida's lap.
[He moves his arms out of the way when she gets back on the couch and watches in amused wonder as she situates herself on his lap. She's already purring like his lap is heaven sent, but he lowers an arm to pet lightly along her hairline.
It's too perfect for words. For once, the kid stays quiet.]
[Meanwhile, she sounds like a little motor. Her claws flex against thin air and she nuzzles his leg with her cheek. She was more than just upset when he came over. Jinx was scared and insecure. Kida managed to take all that and turn it into--well, just look at her.
